Assignment

A participant's slot within a project. One participant can have multiple assignments in the same or other projects (e.g. if they participate more than once).

Available balance

Funds in a project that have not yet been allocated to any participant. Can be used for new incentives or returned when closing the project.

Committed incentives

All funds that are allocated, released, or paid. These funds are reserved and cannot be used for other purposes.

Incentive

The payment or reward given to a participant for taking part in a research project. Always referred to as an 'incentive' in Ayda (not 'payment', 'reward', or 'compensation').

Payment Review

An optional account feature that holds flagged payments in 'Under Review' status until a researcher manually approves or cancels them. Used to prevent fraudulent payments.

Payment route

The method by which a participant can receive their incentive (e.g. bank transfer, PayPal, voucher). Routes are configured per project in the Routes tab.

Project

A container in Ayda that groups participants, incentives, documents, and payment settings for a single research study or engagement.

Released

The incentive status when funds have been made available and the participant has been notified to claim.

Trust Score

Ayda's GDPR-compliant indicator of a participant's reliability, shown as Green (high), Amber (medium), or Red (low). Updated automatically based on platform behaviour.

Wallet

Your organisation's central Ayda balance. Funds in the wallet can be distributed across multiple projects. Separate from any individual project balance.

AydaSign

Ayda's built-in e-signature feature for sending and collecting signed documents (e.g. consent forms) from participants within a project.
