My PayPal Email Is Different From My Ayda Email — What Should I Do?

Modified on Wed, 13 May at 2:17 PM

For verification and security purposes, the email used on your Ayda account must match the email connected to your PayPal account when claiming incentives through PayPal.

You cannot change your PayPal email directly within Ayda.

Recommended Solution

The easiest solution is to add your Ayda email address to your PayPal account. This allows PayPal payments to be processed successfully while keeping your Ayda account unchanged.

How to Add or Update an Email Address on PayPal on the PayPal website

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Open the Email section.

From there you can:

  • Add a new email address
  • Update an existing email address
  • Remove an email address

After adding a new email, PayPal will ask you to confirm it by email verification.

Using the PayPal App

  1. Open the PayPal app.
  2. Tap your Profile Icon.
  3. Go to Account InfoEmails.

From there you can:

  • Add a new email
  • Update an email
  • Remove an email

Note: You may need to set another email as primary before removing one.

Important Information

  • The PayPal email must match the Ayda account email used for the incentive claim
  • Ayda cannot manually change PayPal verification requirements
  • Payments may fail if the emails do not match

Want to Use a Different PayPal Account?

If you want to claim the incentive using a completely different PayPal account, contact the researcher managing the study and ask them to update your participant email address within the project before the incentive is released.
