How Do I Pay Participants?

Steps to pay participants

  1. Step 1 — Select participants

Go to the Participants tab in your project. Select one or more participants you want to pay.

  1. Step 2 — Open Incentives

Click Incentives from the action bar at the top of the participant list.

  1. Step 3 — Allocate incentives

Enter the incentive amount for the selected participants. Funds are moved from your project balance into the selected assignments.

  1. Step 4 — Fund the project if needed

If your project has sufficient funds, they will be used automatically. If not, you will be prompted to add funds via your Ayda Wallet or by bank transfer (pro forma invoice available on request).

  1. Step 5 — Release the incentive

Review the incentive details and click Release. Participants will receive an email notification inviting them to claim their incentive. The incentive status changes to Ready to Claim.

 

What happens next

Once released, participants log in to Ayda and claim their incentive using their preferred payment method (bank transfer, PayPal, or voucher, depending on the routes enabled for your project).

The incentive status will update to Paid once the participant has successfully claimed.

 

Troubleshooting

⚠️ Participant hasn't received the email

Check the email address in the participant record is correct. Ask the participant to check their spam or junk folder. If the address is wrong, edit the participant details before releasing. See: What Should I Do If An Email To A Participant Has Failed?

 

⚠️ Payment is stuck on 'Under Review'

This means Ayda's fraud detection system has flagged the payment for manual review. Go to the participant's incentive, review the details, and either approve or cancel the payment. See: What Happens When a Participant Is Flagged?

 

⚠️ Participant says they haven't been paid after claiming

Check the incentive status in your project. If it shows Paid, the funds have been sent and the participant should check their email for a voucher or with their bank or PayPal. If it still shows Released or Under Review, contact support@helloayda.com with the participant's name and project details.
